Start Planning

·         Drop by bridal studios if you pass by any of them. Try some gowns if possible. Get a feel of what they offer and what's suitable for you. This may be a little early, but it is recommended. If you know what to expect and what you want, then your gown search will be much more fruitful. Remember, your schedule will be very pack when the wedding date draws near.

·         Discuss you Budget. Find out about the expenses involved and start saving early. The idea is to know these early so that you have enough time to accumulate your savings. Very importantly, discuss how much each of you need to contribute. Differing expectations usually leads to quarrels.

·         PROPOSE TO HER! Remember your diamond ring!

12 Months before your Wedding

·         Ask your Bride's Parents for her hand!

·         Set your wedding date. Some parents may want to consult a chinese astrologer to pick an auspicious date.

·         Choose and book your wedding ceremony location. Some may want their ceremony at hotels; others at restaurants.

·         Spend some time to shop for your wedding bands - you are keeping them for life!

·         For the bride, start to work out/diet (if you have this intention). Brides usually want to look their best on the wedding day. It is advisable to stay in the right shape before you fitting into your gown. So start early!

9 Months before your Wedding

·         Choose and buy your engagement and wedding rings.

·         Select your Bridal Studio. Some Studios need up to 6 months preparation. However, some couples looked for their Bridal Studios with only 4 months left to their Big Day! (They did not read this!)

·         Try out different make-up artists and select.

6 Months before your Wedding

·         Work our your Invitation List.

·         Choose Bridesmaids, Groomsmen, Maid of Honor and Best Man.

·         Select Bride's jewellery and accessories.

·         Select your florist.

·         Select Bridesmaids' and Groomsmen's attire.

·         Choose your honeymoon package. Don't forget your passports.

·         For the bride, to look radiant on the Big Day, you may want to go for a series of facials or try some beauty techniques.

3 Months before your Wedding

·         Select invitation card design and stationery.

·         Take your wedding photography session.

1 Month before your Wedding

·         Plan your wedding transportation.

·         Select your Wedding Cake.

·         Start mailing & emailing your Wedding Invitations.

·         Finalize ceremony and reception details or dinner sitting arrangement.

·         Finalise with helpers.

·         Go for your final dress/suit fitting..

2 Weeks before your wedding

·         Finalize florist order.

·         Make Bride's Salon appointments.

·         Final confirmation of all contracted services and reservations

·         Finalize guests list and table arrangements.

·         Pick up wedding rings.

1 week before your wedding

·         Pick up formal wear.

·         Final item check and shopping.

·         Bachelor and Bachelorette Parties.
